Astronauts on the ISS exercise about two hours a day to keep muscles and bones from getting weak.
CHAPTER FIVE
A LUNAR COLONY
People have dreamed of living on the moon for hundreds of years. But there are many challenges to living there. There is no oxygen to breathe. The temperature swings from minus 387 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 233 degrees Celsius) at night to 253°F (123°C) during the day. There is also no atmosphere to protect humans from the Sunâs dangerous radiation.
SPACE FACT:
New research suggests that concrete made of moon soil and rocks could be stronger than concrete made on Earth.
